Media

Clear structure. Creative confidence. Real-world understanding.

Media can be an exciting subject, but it often becomes confusing when theory, coursework and production are all competing for attention. Our Media tutoring helps students understand how media works, how to analyse it clearly, and how to approach coursework with confidence and structure.

Media tuition is led by Dan, who has been a BTEC Lead and has taught Creative Media, GCSE Media Studies, and A Level Media Studies, alongside Esports. His experience spans both academic and vocational pathways, with a strong focus on helping students connect theory to practical outcomes.

Support can include TV, film, radio, print and online media, as well as website building and digital presentation (including the principles behind sites like this one). Tutoring focuses on planning, analysis, written responses and coursework development. Lessons are available online or in person.

To be clear, game design beyond 2D Scratch-style coding is not covered, as advanced coding and programming sit outside our specialism.

KS3

Year 7-9

At Key Stage 3, Media tutoring helps pupils understand how media texts are created and how meaning is constructed. Support focuses on analysing film, television, advertising and online content, while developing confidence with written responses and creative tasks.

Sessions help pupils learn how to explain ideas clearly and begin thinking critically about the media they engage with every day.

KS4

Year 10-11

GCSE and vocational Media courses place high demands on analysis, coursework planning and written evaluation. Tutoring at KS4 helps students break down theory, structure exam responses, and manage coursework more effectively.

Support can cover Creative Media, GCSE Media Studies, and related BTEC units, including help with pre-production, evaluation and presentation. Sessions are structured, practical and focused on meeting assessment criteria clearly.

KS5

Year 12+ & Adults

At Key Stage 5, Media requires depth, clarity and independence. Tutoring supports A Level Media Studies students with theoretical frameworks, comparative analysis and extended written responses, as well as coursework planning and refinement.

Support is also available for post-16 vocational Media students, helping them stay organised, meet deadlines and produce work that clearly meets assessment expectations.
