Dan

I’m Dan, a qualified teacher with over 13 years’ experience working across secondary and post-16 education. I hold a Master’s degree in Education from The Open University and a BA (Hons) in Theatre Studies, and I’m currently an Assistant Headteacher leading a Sixth Form in the South of England. Over my career, I’ve taught English Language and Literature, Media Studies, Film Studies, Drama and Esports from Key Stage 3 through to A Level and equivalent vocational qualifications, with extensive experience of GCSE and A-Level exam preparation, coursework, and controlled assessment. I’ve worked with all major exam boards, supported pupils of varying abilities to make confident progress, and specialise in breaking down complex content into clear, manageable steps. My approach is calm, structured and personalised, focusing on building understanding, confidence and independence rather than quick fixes. Shambrook Tutoring is built on real classroom experience, high expectations, and teaching that adapts to the learner — whether the goal is catching up, keeping up, or pushing for top grades.

Daisy

I’m Daisy, a qualified teacher with over 10 years’ experience working across mainstream, specialist and post-16 education. I hold a degree in Mathematics and have taught Maths from Key Stage 3 through to post-16, including in senior roles such as Head of Maths. Alongside this, I have extensive experience working with pupils with complex learning needs, including PMLD and severe learning difficulties, adapting my teaching to ensure learning is accessible, structured and meaningful. I have also taught Drama from ages 5 to 18, and worked within a Drama academy as a writer, director and tutor, delivering creative, performance-based learning. In addition, I ran an adult drama group for adults with SLD, focusing on confidence, communication and self-expression. My teaching style is calm, patient and highly adaptable, combining strong subject knowledge with creativity and structure to help learners build confidence, skills and independence at their own pace.
